The Great Wildebeest Migration is one of the most impressive natural spectacles. It stretches across the Serengeti in Tanzania and the Maasai Mara in Kenya, with the river Mara crossing the borders undoubtedly being an event worth witnessing.
The great migration is an annual cycle where millions of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles, in search of food and guided by the rains, cover thousands of kilometers, crossing rivers and facing the adversities of the journey.
Maasai Mara Crossing
Starting from the northern part of the Serengeti, from July to early September, the migratory herds concentrate in the northern Serengeti (Kogatende) to cross the dangerous Mara River. This is one of the most impressive and awe-inspiring events in nature, where their lives are constantly in danger due to attacks from crocodiles, predators, and drownings.
